Why I turned My Back To Freelancing
When I worked as a freelancer, I was underpaid but it’s normal because if you are just starting out, you still don’t have any portfolios or good feedbacks from employers. So to get hired faster, you need to lower your hourly rate. Once you build your reputation by getting good feedbacks and high ratings from employers, you’ll get more projects and a higher hourly rate. This depends on how impressive your profile and portfolios. So make sure to work on your profile and portfolios so that it looks attractive and impressive to prospective employers.
I turned my back to freelancing when I learned about affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you earn commissions and you don’t have to work with employers to earn money. I like to learn new stuff that’s why.
It wasn’t a smooth journey for me. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, wasted money, time and effort in promoting programs or opportunities that claim high earnings when you join. I did things that didn’t work but some are successful.
I promoted a website before that earns me $50 above daily and this is the reason why I quit my job and lost my interest doing freelance stuff. I thought I could make money from it for a very long time but I was wrong, after several months, the marketing campaign stopped and so my earnings went back to zero. I could still go back and work as a freelancer but I totally lost my interest in looking for clients or employers online.
I realized that I didn’t really know how affiliate marketing really works. I didn’t know how to properly setup a website and how to get affiliate sales. It was only pure luck that I was able to find the right product and the right audience (paid traffic).
I decided to look for materials, tools and softwares that could help me earn money online. It was very frustrating because I got more confused and I suffered from information overload. I’ve seen various products, ebooks, softwares and trainings. Most of those materials don’t work. Their sales page and sales video are so convincing and they’ll make you believe that earning money online is easy and once you buy their products, you get disappointed because you can’t find any unique or new methods. That’s what happens if you buy products from individual online marketers. You won’t get any after sales support after buying their products. There will be no one to guide you how to learn the other things that you need to learn to be successful online.
